Sage Caswell Listening Party
DJ & producer Sage Caswell recently released his first album aptly named ‘Hoop Earring’ through record label Spring Theory. To celebrate the release of Sage’s premier album release, he teamed up with his digital radio station crew Dub Lab and collaborated with The Quiet Life flagship store on Figueroa in Highland Park for an intimate album listening party. There was a fantastic turn out at the album listening party seeing people travel from all over Los Angeles and the surrounding towns too. The djs playing at the event where simultaneously live streamed through the Dub Lab online radio.
Also to celebrate the release of the album and the in store event at The Quiet Life store, Quiet Life created a super limited Dad Hat with a direct embroidery on the front of the hat with the Hoop Earring logo and ‘The Quiet Life x Spring Theory x Dub Lab’ embroidery above the back arch of the hat. The Hoop Earring dad hat was exclusively made in only three colours, light blue, yellow and black. The hat was on sale at the album launch event and then online exclusively at Thequietlife.com afterwards.

The LA-based DJ/producer is a member of the busy Far Away crew, who put on regular techno and house-oriented events in their hometown. He debuted with a split EP on Peach in 2013 and has since released on Archie Pelago Music, 2MR and San Francisco-based Spring Theory, which is also handling Hoop Earring. The label says it’s “an enigmatic record that comes from the producer’s own movement through personal transformation.”
“Hoop Earring is a fantasy, one about spiritual enlightenment and realization,” says Caswell. “I think about Hoop Earring as a filter with which to look through—Hoop Earring is an island. A lot changed from when I initially started writing these songs and it all feels like it happened while I was in a faraway place.
